Day 1: Nature’s Welcome
Our exciting journey begins at Puerto Jiménez’s oldest bakery, Panadería Monar. There we gather, before setting off on an adventure of discovery in the natural world as we head towards Ecoturístico La Tarde, a sanctuary for nature.
After a warm welcome and check-in at our cabins, we indulge in a lunch prepared with fresh ingredients that awaken our senses and prepare our palates for the adventure ahead.
Then you will be immersed in a world of colourful plumage and celestial melodies during our sunset birdwatching tour, exploring the forests and gardens surrounding this ecological paradise. Later, as night falls, we gather for dinner under the stars, sharing stories and laughter while we enjoy a meal prepared from local ingredients. But the day’s excitement is far from over, as we embark on a night tour to find and photograph amphibians and reptiles as the hidden life of the forest awakens in the darkness.
Day 2: Dawn Birdwatching and Chocolate Delights
We rise early with the dawn to enjoy the vibrant colours that paint the sky and experience a bird watching session that will delight you with the first songs of the day. After recharging with a comforting breakfast, we delve into the fascinating world of chocolate during a sensory tour that transports us through its varied flavours.
Next, we head towards OSA Conservation Campus, enjoying birdwatching and the scenery along the way. After registration at the station, we follow some trails leading through primary forests or mangroves, exploring the diversity of life inhabiting those ecosystems.
The night offers new adventures, with the option of a night hike through the forest, or the possibility of joining a night patrol* to search for sea turtles, a unique experience that connects us with wildlife in its natural environment.
Day 3: Waterfall Wonders and Kayak
Dawn brings another day to be filled with exploration and discovery. After a satisfying breakfast, we’ll start our adventure with a visit to the impressive 30-meter observation tower, offering stunning vistas of the forest canopy and a unique insight into the ecosystem. Next, we’ll journey to Matapalo Beach Waterfall, where the cascading waters provide a serene connection with nature.
Following a relaxing lunch and nature immersion at the station, we’ll proceed to our next hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, embark on a kayak tour of the Golfo Dulce and mangroves, exploring the picturesque and tranquil surroundings. With free time after sunset, there is the opportunity to relax and also reflect on the experiences lived so far.
Day 4: Legendary Trails of Corcovado
With the first light of day, we embark on a boat trip to the legendary Sirena Station in Corcovado National Park. Depending on the season, keep your eyes peeled for majestic whales, playful dolphins, and the gentle glide of sea turtles. Following check in, we join a guided hike through the park’s trails, seeking elusive species such as tapirs, anteaters, white-faced capuchin monkeys, scarlet macaws, white hawks, water cockerels, and guans among others.marvelling at the lush biodiversity surrounding us.
A well-deserved rest follows a comforting lunch, before we continue our exploration of the trails, this time under the magical sunset light, until we enjoy a breathtaking sunset on the beach as we bid farewell to the day. A traditional dinner awaits us, to be followed by some well-earned rest in preparation for the last day of our tour.
Day 5: Farewell to the Wild
Dawn finds us ready for one final hike through the trails of Corcovado National Park and a last chance to absorb the natural beauty before returning to civilization. After breakfast in the station, memories have to be packed up as we prepare to depart.
